Another match at Anfield and another 1-1 draw against London opposition.  Today’s was, ‘[an] unbelievably bad performance’, as Wimbledon took a point.

Ray Houghton opened the scoring just after the hour, taking Whelan’s pass and lashing an unstoppable drive past Hans Segers.  But Wimbledon were not the sort of team to take defeat lying down and Steve Nicol was forced into an uncharacteristic error with just two minutes on the clock as he hooked the ball into his own goal following Vinnie Jones’s long throw.
